Oven Baked Baby Back Ribs

So juicy, melt-in-your-mouth and finger licking good oven baked baby back ribs are fall-off-the-bone delicious! With an incredible and easy to make dry rub, coated with barbecue sauce that is so addictive you will ask for more!

This baby back ribs is so tender and juicy that is complemented by barbecue sauce, it is perfect for all occasions. This is one of the menus we prepared for our daughter’s second birthday.

It is easy to make – all you need is time. The good thing is that you can still cook other dishes while it is in the oven or just relax and chat with family while waiting. Also, you can spare yourself from a lot of smoke using a grill. Since we cannot grill outside due to the hot weather, this is a great recipe to still enjoy a barbecue while inside the home.

How to make the dry rub

This recipe uses a dry rub by combining spices such as paprika, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper. I added some sugar as well to balance the taste of the mixture. If you who love a little heat or spice, you can add in chili or cayenne powder to the mixture.

The combination of these spices adds flavor to the ribs while being baked. So that when the barbecue sauce adds in, it will create a nice salty-spicy-sour flavor. They are the perfect combination.

Tips on making oven-baked baby back ribs

This is a personal preference. But I suggest removing the thin membrane covering the rack. This can be a bit tough (or chewy) when cooked and taking it out will make eating easy.

To remove it, turn over the ribs with rack facing up. Then gently slide a knife under the membrane at one end of the rack. Lift to loosen and using your fingers pull the membrane away from the bones. If it is slippery or difficult to remove, use a kitchen towel/ paper to take hold of it and pull. It should come off in one piece.

If you prefer your ribs to have a little bite/chewiness then you can leave the membrane on. It’s totally up to you.

Another tip is to apply a generous amount of soy sauce-lemon mixture and dry rub covering the whole ribs. You can use your hands with gloves on. This will ensure that the tastes and flavors are properly distributed over the ribs.

Double wrap the ribs with aluminum foil when baking. Aside from preventing the juice from spilling out, this will trap the heat inside that will cook the ribs evenly.

You can use your favorite homemade barbecue sauce or even a store-bought sauce. In this recipe, I used a store-bought sauce since I have it on hand and I don’t have enough time to prepare one. It tastes good.

Try this delicious oven baked baby back ribs recipe that is easy to prepare but tastes great. Happy tummy!
