“Being a new food blogger, I knew I needed help. So I decided to take the plunge and join Food Blogger Pro. This an honest review from a Food Blogger Pro member. All opinions are my own and are based on my experience.”

Even before starting my own food blog, I already knew the success of Pinch of Yum from reading their monthly income report. I was fascinated with the idea of sharing my passion while earning passive income.

Their story is what inspired me to start my blog in order to share my recipes and also earn extra income out of it. One of my goal is to be my own boss by the time I turned 40 and this might be the journey I need to take in order to reach that goal. God willing.

WHY I TRIED FOOD BLOGGER PRO?

There were several occasions in my blogging business that I wanted to give up. I just felt frustrated that my blog stays in a limbo and doesn’t get much traffic, while I read other blogs performed very well without reaching a year old! If you are reading this, maybe you are/were in the same situation as I am.

Sadly, I have to blame myself as I am not putting much effort in making my blog work.

First, I am not spending enough time creating quality content and marketing or sharing it. I have many things at my hand – being a full-time employee, mom and wife – which I know are my priorities.

Second, I am also afraid of investing money into my blog since I am not getting any income yet to re-invest on the blog. I also thought that it will get its traction just by posting some content.

You see, it is easy to start a blog but making it grow is another story. I thought it will be a plug and play kind of thing. Leave it alone and it will magically start to rank in the search engine and create a passive income for you. A wishful thinking.

I learned that I need to treat my blog as a business. And by business means having to spend time and money into it. Since I am a lone soldier in my little business, I know I needed help to upgrade my knowledge and skills before I totally give up.

Then comes Food Blogger Pro. They shed some hope in my seemingly hopeless blogging situation.

WHAT IS FOOD BLOGGER PRO?

Food Blogger Pro is an online course created by Bjork and Lindsay Ostrom of Pinch of Yum, one of the most successful food blogs on the web.

The team will guide you in starting, growing and monetizing your blog through proper setup, SEO, food photography, social media, monetization, and email marketing, among other topics.

Enrollment is Open!

Since they started in humble beginnings such as you and me, they have acquired the knowledge and skills on how to be a successful food blogger. That hopefully, one day we will become.

As I’ve said, it’s simple to start a food blog, but you’ll need skills to acquire traffic, build a following, and make money from it.

Food blogger pro - sections

You spend the majority of your time in there exploring the top seven sections which will help you as a beginner.

1. Learn the process of starting, growing and monetizing your blog through in-depth Courses

All of the video courses have been carefully designed to aid with self-paced study. The best thing is that there are transcripts below each video, in case you prefer to read them or if English is not your first language.

I have outlined the topics below to give you an overview of the courses:

2. Get a member-only access to their Live Section to answers your particular questions

Food blogger pro offers member-only Live Q&As and publish Happening Now videos every month to answer your particular questions and keep you up-to-date on the fast-changing food blogging market.

I once signed up for the live Q&A, however I was not able to join because of some other commitments. They will provide the replay once you registered with them!

They also have a Study Hall, where you’ll be able to meet with your fellow FBP members in real-time during this member-only Zoom call to discuss your email marketing strategy, triumphs, and challenges!

3. Benefit from the checklist, templates, report and workbook from the Tools Section

There’s a lot of information to keep track of when it comes to maintaining a food blog! In the tools section you will find few useful tools and downloadable materials to keep you organized and moving forward.

It contains a social networking, SEO, email marketing, image size, blog articles checklist, and more. The course tracker, which is especially useful for more experienced bloggers, displays your whole list of courses as well as your progress through them.

It’s great for musing on while jogging or doing repetitive work that doesn’t require much thought, and you’re free to jot down whatever nuggets come to mind.

IS FOOD BLOGGER PRO SUITABLE FOR EXPERIENCED BLOGGER?

If you’re making more than $5,000 per month, I think it’s safe to say you’ve figured out food blogging and don’t need to take a general food blogging course.

However, if you have a food blogging flaw, it’s likely that the solution can be found inside Food Blogger Pro.

Food Blogger Pro explores further into photography, video, and other specialist areas such as Hotjar and how to use various social network schedulers, editing tools, and so on.

I would recommend skipping the courses part and going straight to the “Course Tracker” in the tools area for more experienced bloggers.

There, you’ll see all of the courses listed in sequence, and you’ll be able to enlarge them to see what’s contained in the subsections, as well as check off anything you already know very well.

However, don’t be too eager to check things off — and thought that you would knew them pretty well. You can take a short look through the course material and you will find information you may never know!

IS FOOD BLOGGER PRO WORTH IT?

If you want to create a successful blog, you have to invest your time and money upfront just like any other start up business.

You need to consistently invest your time in creating quality content that will help your audience.  And you also need to invest money into courses or trainings that will harness your knowledge and skills as a blogger. The blog grow as the blogger grows.

With that being said, my answer to that question is YES! Food Blogger Pro is worth investing your time and money. It’s a decision that I didn’t regret and worth every penny I spent.

To be honest, I wish I had joined when I first started since it would have prevented me from making so many mistakes.

Personally, I think that if you are planning to start a food blog and you have the resources, you should consider taking up this course.

Starting your blog on the proper foot will save you a lot of time and effort later on, and you’ll be able to start generating money from your site much sooner.

FINAL RECOMMENDATION

Was it all worth it? Absolutely! It changed the way I managed my blog and prioritize the things that I need to be done and change.

In a word, if you’re like me and done a lot of research before starting your blog and were adamant from the beginning that you’d succeed and have an extra revenue stream, then purchase a Food Blogger Pro membership first before getting anything else. It will assist you in having everything set up for success from the start, as well as preventing you from acquiring items that are a waste of money.

However, if you’re simply a hobby blogger or already making a significant amount of money from blogging then I wouldn’t recommend signing up. It’s not worth it if you’re not willing to put in the effort, or if you’re already a successful blogger.

But on the most part, it’s suitable for everything else in between. And you have 60 days to decide whether it’s a good fit for you or not.
